#1 Summarize these slides in 3-4 paragraphs. 4 would be great. The slides are attached below. #2 When finsished reply to these 2 post below. respond to each post with 1 paragraph each Post 1- Occupational health is a topic I have never really thought about, so this chapter enriched my knowledge significantly. When selecting a job, one must consider the threat to one’s health through performing said work. Working with toxic materials for example increases your risk of developing a disease significantly. The causes for occupational diseases can be mainly summarized by dust, chemicals, metals, and ergonomics. This was discovered already discovered by the founder of occupational health, Bernhard Ramazzini. It is fascinating to me that people were aware of that so many years ago. Nevertheless, the period of industrialization has worsen the health conditions at workspaces tremendously. Nowadays, there are many regulations in place to protect workers as good as possible  from the dangers that their jobs bear. For example, wearing protective equipment like hard hats, hearing protection devices, eye protection, or safety gloves, can be a step taken to minimize the risk at work. Taking protective measures for a company’s workers might be a little costly, but occupational injuries cost way more. Post 2-After reading chapter 13 I realized the importance of occupational health. As most people could be harmed by not being told of the risk of using chemical agents, if missed handled. As well as how people have been cautious on how the workplace has handled  possible risk throughout history. Since ancient times people have monitored and described how certain things could be harmful to our health. Such as ppocrates when he discussed the possible risk of metal working. To today where we learned the effects of asbestos and how it is harmful to humans, and made it against code to have it inside buildings as insulation. With knowing how occupational health is important for us to understand, we reduce the risk of having accidents at the workplace. As well as protecting the worker and the company from any issues that could arise from when chemicals or stuff have been missed used.
